Crystal Hall has officially opened!

Yesterday, The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited the Baku Crystal Hall, venue of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest for the grand inauguration.

President Aliyev and the first lady Mehriban Aliyeva received detailed information about the progress so far and how will it look like when the rehearsals begin.

It was noted that the venue with the capacity to host 25,000 spectators differs with its architecture and adds a special beauty to the capital.

The venue can host other international events in the future. Another important feature of Baku Crystal Hall is its immediate proximity to the State Flag Square.

On the 15th of January 2012 the European Broadcasting Union took a decision to choose Baku Crystal Hall as the venue for Eurovision Song Contest 2012.

In other news this year’s Hosts Leyla, Eldar and Nagriz rehearsed for the first time at Baku Crystal Hall yesterday.

Jörg Grabosch who shared his impressions with eurovision.az said that the hosts looked good at Baku Crytal Hall stage from their first rehearsal, which means they will be good hosts for this great show. “We look forward to showing the Baku Eurovision to Europe,” said Jörg Grabosch.

Praising the beauty of Baku Crystal Hall the hosts said that it was a great feeling to be at the stage. “We will try to convey to Europe the magnificence of the venue,” said the hosts.
