Azerbaijan: Opening and Interval acts confirmed! the official Azerbaijani Eurovision website has reported that the opening and interval acts for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest have been confirmed.

The acts will feature local stars like Emin and Ell&Nikki last year’s winners, and from other countries like Dima Bilan, the winner and runner up for the 2008 and 2006 Eurovision Song Contest. Also the acts will consist on both modern and Azerbaijani traditional concept.

To date, the stage is almost completed and the schedule for Rehearsals has already been published by the EBU, the rehearsals will begin on May 13th.

Traditionally, the opening and interval acts produced by the host country of the Eurovision Song Contest, and are made up of performances reflecting the national culture. From this point of view, the audience of the Baku show will be presented with opening and interval acts that combine Azerbaijan’s rich music and culture and are a synthesis of national traditions and modern trends.

The opening show and interval acts of Eurovision Song Contest 2012 two semi-finals and the grand final will surely be remembered by stage design and performances. The mugham legend Alim Gasimov, “Natiq” rhythm band, Azerbaijan National Dance Ensemble, singer and composer Emin also local and foreign dance groups and singers will perform during the opening ceremony and interval acts of the Grand Final of ESC 2012 on 26th of May. Foreign dancers, DJs, the music band made of Eurovision stars, the participants of previous Eurovision Song Contests, as well as other popular local and foreign singers will present their shows during the semi finals interval acts of the contest.

It should be noted that the dress rehearsals for the semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest will be held on 21st and 23rd May, the semi-finals – on 22nd and 24th May, the so-called jury final on 25th May, and the grand final on 26th May.
