Roughly 500 London taxis will be instructed to serve tourists during Eurovision-2012 Song Contest in Baku.
‘Currently 500 cars have been brought to Azerbaijan in three parties. Of them, 80 remain in the garage. The transport of the last party to the country has already begun and 330 of cars are already in Baku’. Head of the Baku Taxi Ltd Ilgar Gasimov said.
Other 170 cars will be dispatched from Turkey soon and reach Baku in 10 days.” Gasimov said.
According to the head of the company, talks are under way to rent and sell the taxis to companies.

Aren’t there taxis in Azerbaijan? They’ve already imported a song (several actually). Oh well…
It is all about the open and cosmopolitan image of Azerbaijan they try to fabricate, I guess … Anyway, those London taxis (just like the old Malta buses) always bring back sweet memories. 🙂
