Sweden: Melodifestivalen 2013 will have a new venue!

Stockholm, Sweden – Melodifestivalen, is the swedish national final for those who don’t know, and it’s the biggest national final. It’s so big that some people say that it’s more intense than the Eurovision, well now, we have recieved some information, the final of Melodifestivalen 2013 will be in the Swedbank Arena Which has a capacity aroung 65,000 people, imagine if Sweden wins the Eurovision as many people wish, the Eurovision will be held there, it would be the biggest Eurovision ever!

In previous years, Melodifestivalen final was held on the Globen arena, Which also, was the venue for the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest.

But wait, it has not opened its doors yet, Swedbank Arena will open its doors until October 27th, It will be used mostly as a Sports venue, When used as a sports venue, it will seat 15,000 people, and when used in concerts it will seat 65,000 people!

“We are extremely proud to hold the final of Melodifestivalen at Swedbank Arena.The event is an important part in the Swedish entertainment all year round and we get the chance to use the stadium’s capacity to embellish this moment for even more visitors”, says CEO Thomas Per Lund.

So now we have the first country confirmed for Eurovision 2013, Sweden because also the Melodifestivalen 2013 final is scheduled to be held on March 9th.

  1. Does this mean that the songs will be chosen by someone who cares about good music? I hope so, otherwise I could not care less.
